The Atrium House

The heart of Sepp Moser operations; the office and cellars have been integrated in this magnificent house. It had always been a dream of Prof. h.c. Lenz Moser, Niki´s grandfather, to live in a house of historic roman antitype. After a long period of planning he fulfilled his dream by building the Atrium House in the years 1964/65. This house is in many ways very remarkable: His relations correspond exactly to those of a Roman atrium. Some parts of the house are relicts of the 2nd world war, that Lenz Moser gathered bit by bit. As an example, the gorgeous staircase up to the main entrance, originates from the bombed railway station Nord in Vienna. The columns inside come from the destroyed Salztor bridge.
For Lenz Moser, the Atrium house was not only a place to live in, but also a perfect surrounding for his sculptures and paintings – a lot of them he painted himself – that you can still see. Also one of the most outstanding collections of old glasses in Roman style is located in the Atrium house. Sepp Moser has been collecting them since the 1960´s. With his light-flooded interior space full of plants, the caringly equipped tasting room and the recently constructed terrace in view of the Abbey Goettweig, the Atrium house is the perfect location for wine presentations.
